Grinding of resistance welding electrodes is one of the important steps to ensure welding quality and efficiency. The following are some standards and guidelines for general resistance welding electrode grinding:

1. Maintain a certain size and shape: After grinding, the electrode should maintain an appropriate size and shape to ensure good contact with the workpiece and provide uniform current distribution during the welding process. Generally speaking, the top of the electrode should be flat, the surface should be smooth, and there should be no obvious depressions or protrusions.

2. Removing oxides and dirt: One of the main purposes of electrode grinding is to remove oxides and dirt from the electrode surface to ensure good conductivity during welding. Use appropriate abrasives and tools to remove the oxide layer and scale on the electrode surface.

3. Avoid excessive grinding: When grinding electrodes, excessive grinding should be avoided to prevent the size of the electrode from decreasing excessively or the shape from changing. Excessive grinding may lead to instability and uneven current distribution at the welding point.

4. Ensure flatness and roundness: The ground electrode should maintain good flatness and roundness to ensure even contact between the electrode and the workpiece during the welding process, avoiding welding deviation and uneven welding nuggets.

5. Control the grinding frequency: The grinding frequency of the electrode should be controlled according to the actual situation and usage. Normally, when there is an oxide layer or dirt on the surface of the electrode, it is necessary to perform grinding, but frequent grinding should be avoided to prevent excessive reduction in electrode size.

6. Check the grinding effect: Before using the ground electrode for welding, the grinding effect should be carefully checked to ensure that the electrode surface is smooth, clean, and that the size and shape meet the requirements.

7. Record grinding history: Recording the grinding history of electrodes, including grinding time, grinding times, and the size and shape of the electrodes after grinding, helps track the usage and performance changes of the electrodes.

In summary, the grinding of resistance welding electrodes should follow certain standards and guidelines to ensure that the ground electrodes have good conductivity, good contact with the workpiece, and can meet the requirements of the welding process.
