What are the reasons for laser welding explosion points?

The main reasons for laser welding explosion points include the following:


1. High temperature in the welding area: Laser welding generates a large amount of heat, and if the temperature in the welding area exceeds the melting point of the welding material, it can lead to explosive welding.

2. Uneven welding speed: Uneven welding speed can lead to uneven distribution of welding heat, which can cause explosive welding.

3. Poor gas protection: Gas protection is necessary during laser welding. If there are problems with the flow rate, pressure, or type of gas, it can cause the welding area to be oxidized by air, affecting the welding quality and resulting in explosive welding.

Improper parameter setting of welding equipment: The parameter setting of laser welding equipment is very important, and different materials require different welding parameters to achieve stable welding results. If the device parameters are not set properly, it can lead to the occurrence of explosion welding.

5. Material contamination: Oil stains, oxide films, or other impurities on the surface of materials can undergo chemical reactions at high temperatures, leading to blackening of solder joints and potential explosion points.

6. Moisture: The moisture in the incoming material of the shell evaporates rapidly under the high temperature of the laser and forms gas, resulting in the formation of a gas chamber during the cooling of the weld seam, which cannot be filled back, thus producing a burst point.

7. Laser optical system problem: The protective lens in the laser welding system is contaminated by welding dust and slag, which reduces the quality of the laser beam, affects the optical path, and leads to the occurrence of welding explosion points.


Solution:


1. Adjust welding parameters: Set welding parameters reasonably according to specific welding materials to avoid explosion welding caused by improper parameter settings.

2. Improve gas protection quality: Ensure the purity and flow rate of the gas, and avoid the impact of oxidation in the air on welding quality.

3. Control welding speed: Master the appropriate welding speed and try to ensure that the welding speed of each weld is the same.

4. Replace appropriate welding equipment: If the equipment ages or cannot meet the current material requirements, new equipment needs to be replaced.

5. Moisture removal: Apply hot air to the shell to reduce its moisture content.

6. Maintain the laser optical system: Regularly replace the protective lens to avoid contamination that affects the quality of the optical path.
